Tokyo's Biggest Anime Events Proxy Guide

Between AnimeJapan, Jump Festa, and Wonder Festival, Tokyo hosts some of the biggest anime, manga, and figure events in the world — each with its own exclusive merch, tickets, and rules. We attend in person so you don't miss out.

Three events, three kinds of exclusives

AnimeJapan (Tokyo Big Sight, late March) is Japan's largest anime industry expo — every studio and publisher runs its own booth selling merch made specifically for the event, in limited quantities, first-come-first-served. Jump Festa (Makuhari Messe, mid-December) is Shueisha's own expo for Weekly Shonen Jump titles like One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Jujutsu Kaisen, with its own exclusive goods, stage events, and game demos — free to attend, but entry runs through a lottery via the official Jump NAVI app. Wonder Festival (Makuhari Messe, twice a year) is the world's largest garage-kit convention, where independent sculptors sell hand-cast resin figures in tiny runs of 10–200 units — once they're gone, they're never made again.

None of these events ship internationally, and most of what's sold only exists for that one day. Getting in sometimes requires a lottery-based ticket registered to a Japanese account, on top of physically queuing at the right booth.

Good to know before you request

AnimeJapan 2026 runs March 28–31 at Tokyo Big Sight (public days March 28–29); Jump Festa's next edition is December 20–21, 2026 at Makuhari Messe; Wonder Festival 2026 runs February 8 (winter) and July 26 (summer) at Makuhari Messe. Because tickets and lotteries open weeks or months in advance, please reach out as early as possible — some lotteries close well before the event itself.
